Obiettivi formativi
Il laboratorio ha lo scopo di permettere agli studenti/alle studentesse di raggiungere conoscenze linguistiche in inglese L2 approssimate al livello A2 del quadro comune europeo di riferimento per la conoscenza delle lingue. Il laboratorio prevede inoltre di introdurre gli studenti/le studentesse ad elementi di glottodidattica e analisi testuale.
The main aim of the workshop is to help the students achieve level A2 (CEFR).
The secondary aim is to introduce the students to language teaching as well as text analysis.

Al termine del laboratorio:
CONOSCENZA E CAPACITÀ DI COMPRENSIONE: lo studente/la studentessa dovrà dimostrare di avere acquisito un grado di conoscenza e di comprensione di contenuti linguistici (strutture linguistiche, comprensione ed analisi di testi scritti e orali riferiti all'ambito di studio) almeno di livello A2 (CEFR).
CAPACITÀ DI APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE: lo studente/la studentessa dovrà dimostrare di saper applicare la conoscenza acquisita e la comprensione dei contenuti didattici erogati, sia a livello di strutture linguistiche, attraverso il superamento della prova d'accertamento scritta finale (approvato/pass), sia a livello di glottodidattica, attraverso una presentazione orale incentrata sulle tematiche affrontate.
AUTONOMIA DI GIUDIZIO: lo studente/la studentessa dovrà dimostrare di saper analizzare in modo critico ed in autonomia il materiale didattico disponibile, e di proporre anche attività di autoapprendimento e autovalutazione.
ABILITÀ COMUNICATIVE: In linea con gli obiettivi formativi gli studenti/le studentesse dovranno dimostrare:
- di essere in grado di usare la lingua ad un livello A2;
- di essere in grado di comunicare in inglese sulle tematiche di glottodidattica affrontate.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO: lo studente/la studentessa dovrà dimostrare una capacità di apprendere i contenuti didattici di un livello almeno pari al livello A2 nonché i contenuti di glottodidattica proposti, come descritto tra gli obiettivi formativi.
Expected learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to have acquired knowledge and comprehension of language content - the structures of the language, comprehension and analysis of written and oral texts - at a level of competence equivalent to A2 (CEFR).
USE OF KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to be able to use the knowledge and the learning skills developed during the course by passing the final written examination and by creating a presentation focused on 'storytelling' as a teaching method.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: students will have to show that they are able to analyse the teaching material available in a critical and independent way, and to further practise the language with self-study activities, working independently.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: according to the overall goals described above, students will have to show that they have achieved a sufficient level of oral communication skills in English and that they can therefore:
- use the language at A2 level;
- talk about teaching and communicate in the classroom.
LEARNING ABILITIES: students will have to demonstrate to have developed a range of study skills in the subject area equivalent to A2 level, as illustrated in the overall goals.

Il laboratorio intende approfondire e consolidare aspetti grammaticali e linguistici al fine di raggiungere gli obietiivi formativi prefissati. Gli studenti/le studentesse lavoreranno sul lessico, morfosintassi, fonologia, abilità ricettive e produttive. Verranno introdotti elementi di riflessione sulla lingua, di applicazioni glottodidattiche e di analisi testuale.
In dettaglio, le strutture linguistiche che verranno approfondite durante le lezioni e che saranno oggetto dell'esame scritto finale:
The Present Simple and the Present Continuous, The Present Simple and the Present Continuous for the future. The Imperative. Adverbs of frequency. Auxiliary verbs, echo questions/question tags. Word order in questions, question words, including how+adjective and how+adverb and questions with 'like'. So do I, Neither do I. Introduction to modal verbs + Can, Could, be able to (ability, possibility) – May, Can, Could (permission). Regular and irregular plural of nouns. Countable and uncountable nouns. Quantifiers: some, any, no, none, how much, how many etc.. Indefinite articles (a/an). Subject/object pronouns. Possessive adjectives and pronouns; possessive ‘s. This, that, one, ones. Prepositions of time (in, at, on + special uses). Dates and numbers.
The course examines grammatical and linguistic functions. Students will be required to work on the following linguistic areas: lexis, morphosyntax, phonology. Part of the course will focus on English language teaching methodology (storytelling) as well as textual analysis.

Modalità di insegnamento
Il laboratorio prevede 32 ore totali, a frequenza obbligatoria, suddivise in didattica frontale supportata da ulteriori ore di lavoro autonomo (assignments, project work) ed esercitazioni e discussioni a coppie / gruppo. Utilizzo di materiali cartacei e multimediali (audio, video, esercizi interattivi).
It is a 32-hour course and class attendance is compulsory. Classroom exercises, pair-work, group-work and discussions will be integrated into frontal lessons while assignments and project work will be assessed and taken into consideration for the final evaluation. Materials include videos, written and audio texts as well as interactive practice exercises..

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame finale è costituito da una prova scritta che consiste in esercizi di grammatica con domande a scelta multipla e frasi da completare, un esercizio di 'reading comprehension' e un esercizio di 'vocabulary'. È inoltre prevista una verifica orale sulla presentazione del lavoro di gruppo realizzato dagli studenti/dalle studentesse sull'argomento di glottodidattica studiato durante il laboratorio.
The final exam consists of a grammar test, with multiple choice questions and sentences with gaps that the student has to fill in with the correct form of the verb, and a reading comprehension exercise. The students are also requested to create and give an oral presentation focused on the teacher training area covered during the course.
