Obiettivi formativi
Il corso ha come obiettivo: l’acquisizione e/o il potenziamento dell’uso e della forma della Lingua Inglese approssimate al livello B2 del Quadro Comune Europeo; l’uso delle quattro abilità, ricettive e produttive in contesti diversi; l’apprendimento della Lingua Inglese in contesti specifici (English for Specific Purposes for Primary Teachers); multilinguismo e pluriculturalismo; ELF; analisi testuale ed elementi di glottodidattica con applicazioni didattiche relativamente a Songs.
The course aims to the acquisition and / or enhancement of the use and form of the English language approximately level B2 of the Common European Framework; the use of the four skills, receptive and productive in different contexts; multilingualism and pluriculturalism; learning English in specific contexts (English for Specific Purposes for Primary Teachers); ELF; text analysis and elements of language teaching focussing on Songs.

Expected learning outcomes, as for:
KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to have acquired knowledge and comprehension of language content – the structures of the language, comprehension and analysis of written and oral texts – at a level of competence equivalent to B2 (CEFR).
USE OF KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to be able to use the knowledge and the learning skills developed during the course by passing the final examination (approved/pass), as well as at the level of glottodidactics, by presenting the topics covered orally.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:students will have to show that they are able to analyse the teaching material available in a critical and independent way, and to further practise the language with self-study activities, working independently.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:according to the overall goals described above, students will have to show that they have achieved a sufficient level of oral communication skills in English and that they can therefore use the language at B2 level using the 4 skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking),and talk about teaching and communicate in the classroom.
LEARNING ABILITIES:students will have to demonstrate to have developed a range of study skills in the subject area equivalent to B2 level, as illustrated in the overall goals.

Programma
The workshop intends to deepen and consolidate grammatical and linguistic aspects in order to achieve the pre-established training objectives. Students will work on vocabulary, morphosyntax, phonology, receptive and productive skills. Elements of reflection on language, language teaching (Songs) and textual analysis will also be introduced.
Here is the course syllabus based on the structures of the language studied, and which will be tested at the end of the course with a written examination:
The Past Simple and the Past Perfect.The Past Perfect Simple and Continuous. Used to, Get used to, Be used to. A little, a few. Both, either, neither, all, everything, every, each. So/such. Like/as, as if/as though; Comparatives and Superlatives (2). Articles: ‘the’ / zero article. Word order and linking words. Reported speech. Reflexive pronouns, each other/ one another. Modal verbs: deduction (past) + could, be able to, managed to (ability and possibility – past). ‘Do’ vs. ‘make’. Prepositions of location: across, over, through, along, past, beyond, inside, outside, towards, up, down.

Modalità di insegnamento
Il laboratorio prevede 32 ore totali, a frequenza obbligatoria, suddivise in didattica frontale supportata da ulteriori ore di lavoro autonomo (assignments, project work) ed esercitazioni e discussioni a coppie / gruppo. Utilizzo di materiali cartacei e multimediali (audio, video, esercizi interattivi).
It is a 32-hour course and class attendance is compulsory. Classroom exercises, pair-work, group-work and discussions will be integrated into frontal lessons while assignments and project work will be assessed and taken into consideration for the final evaluation. Materials include videos, written and audio texts as well as interactive practice exercises.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame finale consiste in una prova su forma e uso della lingua, con domande a scelta multipla e frasi da completare con elemento linguistico corretto, e un esercizio di 'reading comprehension', valutato in 30esimi (voto minimo per superare l'esame 18/30). Ulteriore elemento di valutazione consiste nella presentazione orale del lavoro a progetto realizzato dagli studenti/dalle studentesse sull'argomento di glottodidattica studiato durante il corso. L’esito positivo della prova (APPROVATO) conferisce 2 CFU.
The final exam consists of a test (form and use of the language), with multiple choice questions and sentences with gaps that the student has to fill in with the correct missing word, and a reading comprehension exercise, in a 30-mark paper (pass marks: 18-30). Further evaluation element is an oral presentation based on the a project work created by the students focussing on the teacher training area covered during the course. The positive outcome of the test (PASS) grants 2 CFUs.
