Obiettivi formativi
ll laboratorio ha lo scopo di permettere allo studente di raggiungere conoscenze linguistiche in inglese L2 approssimate al livello intermedio B1+ del quadro comune europeo di riferimento per la conoscenza delle lingue.
Il laboratorio prevede inoltre di introdurre gli studenti ad elementi di glottodidattica (songs).
The main aim of the course is to help the students achieve level B1+ (CEFR).
The secondary aim is to introduce the students to language teaching (songs).

CONOSCENZA E CAPACITÀ DI COMPRENSIONE: lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere acquisito un grado di conoscenza e di comprensione di contenuti linguistici (strutture linguistiche, comprensione ed analisi di testi scritti e orali riferiti all'ambito di studio) almeno di livello B1+ (CEFR).
CAPACITÀ DI APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE: lo studente dovrà dimostrare di saper applicare la conoscenza acquisita e la comprensione dei contenuti didattici erogati, sia a livello di strutture linguistiche, attraverso il superamento della prova d'accertamento scritta finale (approvato/pass), sia a livello di glottodidattica, attraverso una presentazione orale incentrata sulle tematiche affrontate.
AUTONOMIA DI GIUDIZIO: lo studente dovrà dimostrare di saper analizzare in modo critico ed in autonomia il materiale didattico disponibile, e di proporre anche attività di autoapprendimento in autonomia.
ABILITÀ COMUNICATIVE: In linea con gli obiettivi formativi gli studenti dovranno dimostrare A) di essere in grado di utilizzare la lingua ad un llivello pari al livello B1+ e B) di essere in grado di comunicare in inglese sulle tematiche di glottodidattica affrontate.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO: lo studente dovrà dimostrare una capacità di apprendere i contenuti didattici di un livello almeno pari al livello B1+ nonché i contenuti di glottodidattica proposti (songs), come descritto tra gli obiettivi formativi.
Expected learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to have acquired knowledge and comprehension of language content – the structures of the language, comprehension and analysis of written and oral texts – at a level of competence equivalent to B1+ (CEFR).
USE OF KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING SKILLS: students must prove to be able to use the knowledge and the learning skills developed during the course by passing the final written examination and by creating a presentation focused on using 'songs' as a teaching method.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: students will have to show that they are able to analyse the teaching material available in a critical and independent way, and to further practise the language with self-study activities, working independently.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: according to the overall goals described above, students will have to show that they have achieved a sufficient level of oral communication skills in English and that they can therefore A) use the language at B1+ level, and B) talk about teaching (songs) and communicate in the classroom.
LEARNING ABILITIES: students will have to demonstrate to have developed a range of study skills in the subject area equivalent to B1+ level, as illustrated in the overall goals.

Programma
Il corso intende approfondire e consolidare aspetti grammaticali e linguistici al fine di raggiungere gli obietiivi formativi prefissati. Gli studenti lavoreranno sul lessico, morfosintassi, fonologia, abilità ricettive e produttive. Verranno altresì introdotti elementi di riflessione sulla lingua, di applicazioni glottodidattiche (songs) e di analisi testuale.
In dettaglio, le strutture linguistiche che verranno approfondite durante il corso e che saranno oggetto dell’esame scritto finale:
The Past Perfect Simple and Continuous. The Past Simple and the Past Perfect. Used to, Get used to, Be used to. A little, a few. Both, either, neither, all, everything, every, each. So/such. Comparatives and Superlatives (2). Articles: ‘the’ / zero article. Word order and linking words. Reported speech. Reflexive pronouns, each other/ one another. Modal verbs: deduction (past) + could, be able to, managed to (ability and possibility – past). ‘Do’ vs. ‘make’. Prepositions of location: across, over, through, along, past, beyond, inside, outside, towards, up, down.
The course examines grammatical and linguistic functions. Students will be required to work on the following linguistic areas: lexis, morphosyntax, phonology. Part of the course will focus on English language teaching methodology (songs) as well as textual analysis.

Modalità di insegnamento
ll laboratorio prevede 32 ore totali, a frequenza obbligatoria, suddivise in didattica frontale supportata da ulteriori ore di lavoro autonomo (assignments, project work) ed esercitazioni e lavori in gruppo /coppia. Utilizzo di materiali cartacei e multimediali (audio, video, esercizi interattivi)
It is a 32-hour course and class attendance is compulsory. Classroom exercises, pair-work, group-work and discussions will be integrated into frontal lessons while assignments and project work will be assessed and taken into consideration for the final evaluation. Materials include videos, audio texts as well as interactive practice exercises.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'esame scritto finale verte su una parte di grammatica, con domande a scelta multipla e frasi da completare con il verbo al tempo giusto, un esercizio di 'reading comprehension' ed un esercizio di 'vocabulary', valutato in 30esimi. E' prevista anche una verifica orale che si basa sulla presentazione del lavoro a progetto realizzato dagli studenti sull'argomento di glottodidattica studiato durante il corso, valutata in 100esimi.
The final exam consists of a grammar test, with multiple choice questions and sentences with gaps that the student has to fill in with the correct form of the verb, a reading comprehension exercise and a vocabulary exercise,, in a 30-marks paper (pass marks: 18-30). The students are also requested to create and give an oral presentation focused on the teacher training area covered during the course, graded on a scale of 0 to 100.
